Hi Everyone!
I am very new at this blog thing so it might take me awhile to get used to and get it right, but I figured it would be a good way to comunicate my adventures to come. On June 7th, I got the most exciting news of my life, and discovered that the Peace Corps is sending me to Peru. I didn't know very much about Peru, other than it's in South America and I am thrilled to be going there. Since then, I have done some research and I'm not sure if I could have gotten a better location. I leave September 16th and check in at my staging area in DC, then off to Peru on the 17th.
My job in Peru will be a public health educator, I'll be educating low income and poverty stricken areas on some of the health intiatives the Peace Corp has established in conjuction with the needs of Peru. Again, I don't think I could have asked for a better job!
So for now, I'm just starting to get all my belongings together and start the packing process and the closing out my life here in the U.S. to prepare for the next 28 months away!
